Old buildings in city of Xi An

This special lecture will present people of Chinese heritage with an overview of how Chinese family history has been recorded over the centuries and what people living today need to know if they want to find information about their ancestors in China and elsewhere in the world. The lecture will be in Chinese with English explanations as needed.

The one-hour lecture will be followed by a question and answer period of 30 minutes.

Instructor: Grace Chan
Grace Chan was born in China, grew up in Taiwan and has lived in both Utah and Ontario. While in Utah, Grace served for eleven years as a volunteer consultant at the Chinese desk of the Family History Library in Salt Lake City, which is the largest genealogical library in the world. While there, she had access to the most extensive Chinese genealogical record collection outside of China and enjoyed assisting Chinese patrons from around the world with their research. Grace has recently retired to Toronto, which she now calls home. She loves genealogy and looks forward to helping others to discover their Chinese ancestors.
