Journals Received on Exchange
A benefit of membership...
EXCHANGED JOURNALS
Barbara Garrow, OGS 15239
Journals Coordinator, Toronto Branch
Toronto Branch has continued this year to exchange journals and newsletters with all other OGS Branches, as well as with some other genealogical and historical societies. To give members an idea of what is in the current journals, excerpts from some of these are extracted by Marjorie Stuart and printed in the Toronto Tree in the section “Genealogy in Brief”. The journals are circulated briefly to certain Executive Committee members who need to see them and are then available to members to borrow.
Although most of these journals may also be housed in the OGS library, those copies are not available to borrow. With our exchange journals, on the other hand, members are welcome to borrow a specific journal or take home a stack of journals from a particular society to peruse at their leisure. I bring a representative sampling of journals to most Branch meetings and put them on display at the back of the room. Any of these may be borrowed on the spot. If a member wants to borrow a journal that is not at the meeting, I can bring it to a subsequent meeting for pick-up.

If there is a particular journal you want, please ask me for it at the meeting, or contact me by phone through the Toronto Branch at 416-733-2608, or send an e-mail me at journals@torontofamilyhistory.org.
