Toronto in 2016!

Conference 2016 logo

The Ontario Genealogical Society’s 2015 Conference in Barrie has now drawn to a successful close, but the countdown to next year’s Conference is just beginning. OGS Conference 2016 will draw hundreds of family historians to… Toronto!

The 2016 theme is “Genealogy on the Cutting Edge“, and has been selected to inspire excitement among attendees, speakers and exhibitors alike. The goal is to offer a fresh and original program that will showcase the latest developments and discoveries in family history research — from records, repositories and databases to methodology and technology. Two internationally acclaimed genealogy experts have already confirmed that they will be speaking at Conference 2016.  “The Legal Genealogist” Judy G. Russell  and genetic genealogist CeCe Moore will both be making their debut appearances in Ontario. If you are a potential speaker, please note that the Conference Committee is now inviting proposals for presentations. See the full Call for Presentations for further details.

Conference 2016 will take place from June 3 to 5 at Toronto’s International Plaza Hotel, which is convenient to major highways, the airport and public transit. It’s compact, yet with all the public spaces needed for plenary sessions, a wide array of concurrent lectures, the annual banquet and an extensive exhibitor marketplace.

Be sure to mark your calendar now, and stay tuned for more exciting announcements about what’s in store for you at Conference 2016! Sign up below for Conference updates delivered directly to your inbox.
