The course consists of four classes:    Thursdays, May 3, 10 and 17, and Monday, June 4.

This course is co-sponsored with the Humanities and Social Sciences Department at the Toronto Reference Library.

Learn how to get the most out of your iPad or iPhone specifically to further your Genealogy. The course is hands-on and you will be actively using your device in class. You’ll learn how to use the Apps and programs which work best to find and capture information, pictures, records and even audio, how best to organize and enhance that information and how to share it with others. You’ll also learn tips for using your devices themselves. Get these powerful tools working for you in your genealogy!

Course Leader: Carol Nichols

Carol Nichols was born in Toronto and raised her three children here. She worked as a teacher in Scarborough and with the Toronto District School Board where she developed an interest in working with children with special needs and especially in adapting curriculum and technology to help students learn.

She has explored her family history in Canada and visited England, Ireland and Scotland, meeting family and learning about their history. She has enjoyed photography as a way to learn about and share that history and written about the family story for her wider family.

As a member of the Ontario Genealogical Society, Toronto Branch she has made many presentations and given many courses. She has also presented for the Toronto Public Library. She enjoys helping others become enthusiastic and knowledgeable about how to search effectively for their family history.
