Are you starting to get that back-to-school itch? Fall learning at Toronto Branch starts mid-September with our very popular online course on Understanding Ontario Land Registry Records.
Over three Thursday evenings via Zoom from September 12 to 26, instructor Jane MacNamara will show you the wealth of valuable genealogical information you can uncover if you add land registry records to your research. Learn how land is divided and identified in Ontario both historically and today, and practice finding a property description, locating the corresponding parcel of land on a map, and documenting how it changed hands through the years. Jane will demonstrate the use of a variety of sources, including OnLand.ca, FamilySearch.org, microfilmed records at the Archives of Ontario, and original records deposited at local archives. The cost for the full three-session course is $40, or just $35 if you are an OGS member.
Space is limited, so do register soon. Click here to find out more about Understanding Ontario Land Registry Records beginning September 12.
