June Meeting

Our June 2016 Toronto Branch meeting will take place on Monday 27 June starting at 7:30 pm at our new location—Eglinton St George’s United Church at 35 Lytton Blvd in North Toronto.

Jane - St. Bartholomew the GreatPlease join us for a fascinating case history presentation. Our featured speaker Jane E. MacNamara will guide us through many early English records—from manorial records and parish registers in Yorkshire, to an ancient church in Smithfield, to manors in rural Essex, and to intriguing records of inheritance in all locations—as we follow The Search for Alban Leaf.

During the mid-meeting break, take a few moments to drop by our information tables and find out about new Branch educational activities and volunteer opportunities… and mingle with other members and guests. We’ll conclude with a short presentation by Branch member Stephen Low titled The Ladies of Loughborough.

If you haven’t yet had a chance to visit our new venue, Eglinton St George’s, it is located a block west of Yonge Street between Eglinton and Lawrence Avenues—a short bus-ride or a reasonable walking distance from either the Eglinton or Lawrence subway station. If you’re driving, there is some local street parking and there are also three “Green P” parking lots close by.

This will be our last Branch meeting until September. To find out what’s in store in the fall, please visit our Meetings page or browse through our Calendar.

Please note: Due to unforeseeable circumstances, this meeting will not be live-streamed as planned.
