Genetic Genealogy

with Blaine Bettinger, April 2018

Toronto Branch OGS is pleased to announce that Blaine Bettinger will be visiting Toronto on April 6 and 7, 2018 for two genetic genealogy presentations—a Workshop with lectures at the intermediate level and a Lecture at the advanced level.

Cover of Blaine Bettinger bookBlaine Bettinger, Ph.D., J.D., is an intellectual property attorney by day and a DNA specialist by night. He is the author of the long-running blog The Genetic Genealogist, and frequently gives presentations and webinars to educate others about the use of DNA to explore their ancestry.  His most recent book The Family Tree Guide to DNA Testing and Genetic Testing is considered the genetic genealogist’s bible.

Genetic genealogy is changing quickly so specific presentations won’t be chosen until later. Here’s a sneak peak of what to expect:

Friday Afternoon Lecture: For the Advanced genetic genealogist: Step up your DNA knowledge with more advanced analytics using third-party tools. Examine new concepts and evolving tools.

Saturday Workshop: For the Intermediate genetic genealogist: Learn more ways about how DNA testing can help you with your genealogical research. How using Autosomal DNA, Y-DNA and mtDNA together with traditional research can help to explore ancient ancestry, find genetic relatives, and break through brick walls.

So get your DNA testing done now so you can truly benefit from this outstanding opportunity to hear Blaine Bettinger!

Mark your calendars for April 6 and 7, 2018.

Registration and more details will come at a later date.
