Toronto Branch is pleased to announce the launch of a new online project—3rd York Militia Veterans!
It was 208 years ago, on March 23, 1813, that the 3rd York Militia was presented with its “colours”, stitched together by the Patriotic Young Ladies of York. Our newest Branch project will showcase the men who volunteered for the 3rd York Militia in the War of 1812—with profiles of the volunteers, information about their service records, and a discussion of valuable materials for further research.
We’ll highlight individual veterans, events and resources in regular project blog posts.
We are delighted to be working in collaboration with Branch member Fred Blair, the creator of the website War of 1812 Canadian Stories.
