October 2019 meeting

Our next Toronto Branch meeting will take place on Monday, October 28 starting at 7:30 pm at Lansing United Church in North York, and it will be an evening devoted to the United Empire Loyalists!

Benedict ArnoldBeth Adams‘ quest to document her Loyalist heritage took many years of searching the records and led her from southwestern Ontario to Digby, Nova Scotia to the coast of New Jersey and Long Island, New York… with many interesting road trips and cousins to meet along the way.  Please join us to learn about Beth’s journey to UEL status in Searching for Benedict Arnold and Finding a Different Loyalist Spy.

Members of the Toronto and Governor Simcoe Branches of the United Empire Loyalists’ Association of Canada will join us during and after our mid-meeting break. Enjoy a short presentation on the Association, chat with UEL members about their activities, browse displays of books, maps, period costumes and more.

The Members Network will be gathering as usual in advance of the main meeting, beginning at 6:15 p.m.—all Branch members are welcome, regardless of level of knowledge or area of interest.

Lansing United Church is located two blocks south-west of Sheppard and Yonge, at Poyntz Avenue and Beecroft Road (enter from Poyntz). It’s a short walk from the Sheppard-Yonge subway station, which also links to frequent bus service.
