An organization of family historians, some with Toronto roots, others who live in Toronto, we have ancestors around the world.

Researching German ancestors

Did you know that German speakers were among the first European settlers in Ontario?

Toronto Branch is presenting a new online lecture series in June 2022 on German migration to Ontario, the experience of German-speaking immigrants in the province and where to look for relevant records and information about them.

Join us on consecutive Thursday evenings for this two-part series, German Ancestors in Ontario, presented by author and historian Benjamin Bryce:

June 9: German Immigration to Ontario, 1790-1960

June 16: German Bilingual Schools in Ontario, 1880-1912
