See you at OGS Conference 2016!

If you’re a family historian, Toronto is the place to be the first weekend of June. From June 3 to 5, the biggest genealogical conference in Canada will be taking place at the International Plaza Hotel near Pearson Airport.

Walk-ins welcome

OGS Conference 2016, “Genealogy on the Cutting Edge” is the annual conference of our parent organization, the Ontario Genealogical Society, and we at Toronto Branch are thrilled to be hosting it this year. Online registration for Conference 2016 is now closed but walk-in registrations are welcome throughout the weekend, and those who are already registered may choose to add to their orders at the door. However, on-site registrants should be prepared to pay with a credit card, or a cheque. The Conference registration desk won’t be able to take cash.

There are also some events taking place at Conference 2016 that are open to all serious family historians—whether you’ve signed up for Conference sessions or not. The National Institute for Genealogical Studies will be holding a graduation ceremony at the Conference hotel on Friday afternoon at 5:30. The Annual General Meeting of the Ontario Genealogical Society will be taking place at the Conference hotel on Saturday afternoon at 1:30. And visitors are free to browse and shop in the Conference 2016 Expo Hall, which will be overflowing with cutting-edge displays.

If you’re planning to come to Conference 2016, please stop by the Toronto Branch table in Expo Hall and find out more about who we are and what we do. If you can’t be there in person, you can still be part of the online Conference community! Download the OGS 2016 app and start exploring…
