Conference 2024 — new options!

The Ontario Genealogical Society’s Conference 2024 is coming up soon, and now there are even more options to choose from!

Conference 2024, titled “An Interactive Experience: Explore, Engage, Enjoy!”, is being hosted by Toronto Branch from June 14 to 16 at the Delta Hotels by Marriott Toronto Airport & Conference Centre near Pearson Airport. There are still some hotel rooms available at the special event rate for attendees wishing to stay on site.

Why not plan to make it a long weekend? Come early to see the sights of Toronto, do some focused research… or enjoy one of the pre-Conference events on offer. On Thursday June 13, join a bus tour to explore the city’s deep Irish connections, or stay at the hotel for a special day of programming devoted to Artificial Intelligence and Genealogy. Featuring expert speakers Blaine Bettinger, Daniel Horowitz, Steve Little and Jonny Perl, and hosted by Toronto Branch’s own Paul Jones, this will be a day of discovery, with sessions on the latest AI tools and what they mean for genealogy research. On Friday June 14, eight concurrent workshops will be running in both the morning and the afternoon. If you’d prefer to head out on the town, you have a choice of two bus tours—one will take you to two wonderful historic museums, Fort York and Montgomery’s Inn, and the other to two key libraries for genealogical research, the Toronto Reference Library and the United Empire Loyalist Library. Space is limited in many of these pre-Conference activities, so now’s the time to reserve your spot.

We’re really looking forward to seeing as many of you in person as possible. But if you’re not able to make it to Conference this year, there are now two fabulous virtual options to consider. The Thursday AI Day is being presented both in person and by livestream! And the Conference team is also putting together a special package of 18 pre-recorded sessions called Bonus Tracks—almost 20 hours of learning—to be released on June 14. All full-weekend Conference registrants will automatically get access to the Bonus Tracks package free of charge, and anyone else can purchase it separately for just $125.

For more on the full 2024 program including pre-Conference activities, visit the Conference website.

Don’t miss out on this exciting family history experience!
