It’s in our Genes!

Have you taken the plunge and tested your DNA to help you advance your family history research? Are you wondering what to do with the results? Maybe you’ve been at it for a while, but you’d like to learn more about techniques and strategies? Or perhaps you just want to find out what genetic genealogy is all about? Wherever you are in your DNA journey, you’ll want to attend our June workshop!

Registration is now open for Genetic Genealogy, a full-day event to be held on Saturday 6 June 2015 at North York Central Library, co-sponsored by Toronto Branch and the Library’s Canadiana Department.

This workshop will cover the main types of DNA testing available to genealogists, different analytical techniques and how the results from genetic testing are used in conducting or supporting family history research. Our keynote speaker will be Irish genetic genealogy expert Dr. Maurice Gleeson. We’ve programmed concurrent lectures during the day to enable attendees to choose the sessions that are best suited to their levels of knowledge, expertise and interests.

Early-bird rates apply until 9 May and OGS members enjoy additional discounts.
