Summer Camp is on for 2018

After a two-year hiatus, our Genealogy Summer Camp will be back on in 2018…

Genealogy Summer Camp is an intensive five-day program for family historians with Ontario roots, coordinated by longtime Branch member Jane E. MacNamara. Our campers are on the move throughout the week, travelling to different libraries and archives. Each day starts with a tour or tutorial, and plenty of time is built in for individual campers to focus on their own family history research, under the guidance of local experts. This program is designed mainly for out-of-towners, but we also welcome Toronto residents, who may choose to stay with the group in local accommodation or attend as “day-campers”.

Genealogy Summer Camp button The 2018 Genealogy Summer Camp will run from Monday 4 June to Friday 8 June, right after the OGS Conference in nearby Guelph. If you’re planning to attend the OGS Conference, why not extend your stay and enjoy an extra week of concentrated research in Ontario records. Registration for both events is now open… and Summer Camp registrants get a special discount on OGS Conference rates!

The fee for the 2018 Summer Camp is $275. That covers about 7 hours of lectures and tutorials, about 25 hours of hands-on instruction, and all worksheets and handouts. Accommodation, meals and public transportation costs are extra.
